Vera Holds First Plant-a-Thon

On Saturday, September 7, in Los Angeles' 100 degree heat, Vera Society members rolled up their sleeves and got digging. In the weeks leading up to the event, our California-based members each received a packet of poppy seeds. Members then used these seeds to plant the native flower in their home gardens and communities.

In the morning we participated in our partner organization North East Tree's black walnut seed event, and in the evening the board got together to do some collective planting.

We look forward to our next Plant-a-Thon in Spring 2025, and extending our reach to more communities across the US!
